マスタッシュキャットダンスの本公演まで後わずかになりました
照明、そして舞台監督さんもリハーサルに参加。否が応でも本番間近の緊張感が立ち込める稽古場となってきました。
この作品、創作年数４年以上という長期にわたって作り上げてきた作品になります。この作品を作る過程で実際に日系アメリカ人強制収容所へ入られていた方々、そしてそのご子孫の方々に貴重な、そして想像を絶する体験談を伺うことができました。なんだか今ではこの作品、私の手を超えて何か大きな、皆の思いが詰まった大きな「何か」になったような気がします。私は皆の思い、歴史を舞台上に再構築したというか…。不思議な気持ちでいっぱいです。
公演終了後は、金、土曜日とも日系アメリカ市民同盟のニューヨーク支部が共同スポンサーとなり、同盟から会長がお越し下さり、簡単なパフォマンス後のトークを開催することになりました。
